Summary/Abstract: The study of female business participation gives an insight into the reasons for the inclusion of women in economic activity as a creator of economic and job-generating units. The analysis of these issues also sheds scenarios on the processes by which they make the decision to participate in separate activities within a male-dominated structure. On the other hand, it lets delve into the characteristics of business development and the differential effects of economic restructuring. It also helps to increase awareness of gender issues as a cultural product, and as a producer of this differentiation and inequality. All this contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between economic units and households, specifically when responsibility for both rests with a woman. The fact pursue this line of research should allow to find differences between women entrepreneurs. It is particularly useful for distinguishing the firm which is a self-employment option that offers new jobs and expansion plans. Finally, it can show the mechanisms on which companies headed by women and networks of social and economic relations they establish are created.
