Selected problems of young people in the Polish labour market

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present changes in the job activity as well as the size and structure of youth unemployment in Poland. The main source of information is data from the Survey of the Economic Activity of the Polish Population (BAEL), implemented by GUS in the first quarters of 2015 and 2017. The analysis was conducted on changes in the value of selected indicators of the economic activity of young people (including graduates) in comparison with other age categories. The study also analyzes the structure of the unemployment of young people, including the length of the period of unemployment, place of residence and methods of employment seeking. Also a review of the proposals of the labour market policy aimed at increasing the activity of young people was conducted.
