Summary/Abstract: The fear of failure in business is a factor which may limit the growth of the company and comfort of the entrepreneur. Sometimes it is also the cause of passivity, because it inhibits the process of opening the company. The article contains theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of fear of failure in business, and presents the results of research on the determinants of psychological and financial. The most important correlates of personality proved to neuroticism and extraversion and optimism (among women), and self-efficacy (among men). Income and income growth are important predictors of fear of failure in business among the “mature” businesses.
