Summary/Abstract: City development towards the smart city concept it is a challenge for local authorities in situation of Poland. Due to the fact that the urban population is growing rapidly, quality of life reaches a lower level, which is determinant of deteriorating living conditions in cities and their uncontrolled growth. This requires the development of urban management system, which can optimize its development, and reduce the cost of its operation in the long run. New problem, requiring detailed analysis, is the question of the degree of spatial and economic changes of the city as a result of the use of advanced technology. The article’s objectives is to identify the degree to which the smart city concept is used for managing cities in Poland.
