RISK IDENTIFICATION IN THE MUNICIPAL CULTURAL INSTITUTION

Summary/Abstract: Risk means the possibility that an organisation’s objective may not be achieved. Risk identification is the first step in the risk management process. The key to its proper implementation is the precise determination of strategic and operational objectives of the organisation. The aim of the study is to present the correct understanding of the concept of risk and to present the possibility of identifying risk in the activities of a municipal cultural institution using a SWOT analysis. The hierarchy of strategic and operational objectives was presented on the example of the municipal cultural institution, together with measures. An example of the possibility of using the SWOT analysis as a tool helpful in formulating the organization’s objectives and, consequently, identifying events that may affect the failure to achieve those objectives, has been given. The basic risk categories present in cultural institutions are also shown. Examples of risks are given for each category. The research was carried out in the municipal cultural institution.
