Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to select similar groups of European Union countries in terms of the structure of housing tenure status of households and their characterization in terms of GDP per capita. The analysis used data from 2016 based on the results of EUSILC research conducted by Eurostat. The research objects were 28 countries of the European Union. The indicators were selected and examined using the Ward method to select groups of countries similar in terms of the housing tenure status of households. Then, the distinguished groups of countries were characterized in terms of the level of GDP per capita according to the purchasing power parity. The survey indicated that in the European Union there were four groups of countries similar in terms of the tenure status of households and there was a similar level of GDP pc in countries classified to each group.
