Summary/Abstract: The study deals with the specific theme of the substantively complex events of 68, which directly affected the university’s institutional system. It reviews the general processes that affected virtually every element of the university, which were in the background of student dissatisfaction, as well as the main demands of university citizens. It presents the student uprisings of three cities – Oslo, Tokyo and Paris – conveying the sense of what different characteristics appeared in these events that showed fundamentally similar features. As a result of the events the institutional system of higher education radically changed from several aspects. The so-called non-university sector was created, the representative form of institutional governance system started to spread, and practically as a side effect youth research initiatives commenced.
