Summary/Abstract: The subject of this paper is the lexicosyntactic method of term coinage in John the Exarch’s Translation of De Fide Orthodoxa – special terminology is coined by combining words. Terminological phrases are divided into: simple and complex (according to the number of their constituent words) and attributive and objective (according to the syntactic links between the constituent components). The terminological phrases with a personal name in their structure are put in a separate group. Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of semantic condensation in the lexicosyntactic term creation.
