Summary/Abstract: The article presents problems connected with formation of territorial defense. It shows an origin and outline of historic territorial defense in Poland, explaining the creation of new formation of military power in Polish Republic. It also attempts to confront territorial defense with already existing formation. It discusses current realities of formation of troops of territorial defense and states the concepts of reforms of existing formations.
