Summary/Abstract: This article presents the role of communication and significant impact on the culture of health and safety. Preliminary information helps to understand the meaning of communication in the Management System of Occupational Health and Safety, paying attention to issues of family businesses. Next stages of the article indicate rules of transfer of information and determine what and how to communicate for communication to function smoothly and bring the intended effects. Furthermore, some obstacles which can disturb fluent communication are mentioned as well as suggestions of their overcoming. Conclusions of the text are variety of benefits from correct communication process in family businesses. Generally, the article is trying to draw attention to the role of communication in relation to occupational health and safety in family businesses.
