Summary/Abstract: Healthcare and its organization remain one of the most important and difficult sectors of economy. Every year the health sector consumes more and more money but increasing healthcare spending is not fully reflected in better quality and availability of healthcare services. The study focuses on showing the need for developing managerial skills in healthcare. It also points to the fact that continuing education should include psychological skills training which entails trainee’s active involvement in the educational process such as working with a coach or workshops. Development of managerial skills fits in the idea of social responsibility of business. Mindful and responsible managers take care not only of the financial results of their work but also actively create internal and external image of the organization and raise competitiveness of the organization on the healthcare market. Thanks to the effective coping the manager fulfills the principle of balanced development of the organization, which promotes well-being of both its patients and employees.
