Summary/Abstract: The article sets forth the main known scientific hypotheses on the hymnography probably written by St. Naum of Ohrid. The article’s author presents additional arguments for some of them and against others. Through philological analysis of the significant asbences in the acrostical text of St. Naum’s canon in honour of St. apostle Andrew, she advances new reasons in favour of the late origin of St. Naum’s work (during the 90-s of the IX c.).
