Summary/Abstract: This research analyzes “Sermon to the pastor” in its part dealing with the practical (active) virtues. The parallels with The Ladder and the study of the meta-textual presence of the Sermon in some hesichast writings are a contribution to the textology of the medieval theological texts, which were written in Old Bulgarian literary language or translated into it, in connection with their hagiological hermeneutic analysis.
