Summary/Abstract: The subject of this study was an attempt to analyze the empirical relationship between technical devices and productivity in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe as well as analysis and evaluation of the performance of these countries against selected EU-15 countries between 1993 and 2013. The study was based on the Cobb-Douglas production function and it was carried out to show that the labor efficiency in analyzed countries was characterized by spatial differentiation. The link between the diversified technical devices and productivity in the highest developed countries of the European Union has been particularly observed over a period of twenty years. The obtained results were compared with similar results for Central and Eastern European countries. Studies have shown that as sectoral employment structures and production structures are adapted to higher-developed economies, implementing market mechanisms, strengthening the service sector as well as restricting to a great extend the agricultural and industrial sectors, the importance of technical labor as a determinant of output per worker has increased.
