Summary/Abstract: This essay presents an overview of the translation of literary works by F. M. Dostoyevsky in the Serbian language. More significant translators of Dostoevsky’s literary work to Serbian language have been cited, with a special reference to translators of the novel “Crime and Punishment”, and this view is given the most space given to us by the Dostoevsky - Jovan Maksimovich, translator. A fragment of his translation of this novel (1914) is compared with the original and it sounds archaic today. It is also compared with the original excerpt from the latest translation of Dostoevsky’s novel, signed by Katarina Brajovich, which was first published in 2015.
