Summary/Abstract: Poland has been promoting in the world statistics for more than a dozen years in terms of business conditions and entrepreneurship. However, Polish entrepreneurs in their opinions do not confirm this. The retrospective assessment of barriers to entrepreneurship is constantly pointing to similar causes, and Polish entrepreneurs have poorly assessed business conditions which, in their opinion, have not improved for several years. The catalog of the most important barriers is different from that indicated by entrepreneurs in Europe. Polish entrepreneurs, constantly from the beginning of transformation processes, are the main barriers to legal and administrative solutions, including taxation. On the other hand, Polish entrepreneurs show one of the highest indicators of their willingness to start a business and recognize that this is the best way to pursue a career. Polish entrepreneurs also have strong assets. They are confident of the skills they have, a high level of optimism, a tendency towards risk and willingness to use the higher risk in Europe. This makes young Polish entrepreneurship a special opportunity for the development of the Polish economy and its broader integration into international markets.
