The End of Metaphysics and the Consequences for Society

Summary/Abstract: For Martin Heidegger metaphysics ends its existence with the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche thought that the essence of Being is the will to power, but will to power is turned into will to will – will itself. The model in which the will goes to itself leads to “Great Ideologies” and “World Wars”. The action is done for itself without aims and reason. The way out is thinking is to return the whole of Being where to take its own reasons.
