The Generation of 98 Revisited

Summary/Abstract: The important role played by the famous literary Generation of 1898 on the contemporary history of Spain and the subsequent attention focused on it by Spanish thinking, have both hidden, for a vast majority of scholars, the presence of “other” Generations of 98 in that context and have hindered a broader and more authentic vision of Spain at that time. The primary goal of this study is to place the famous generation within its context to understand better the turn of that century.
