Summary/Abstract: The article deals with one of the most important German philosophical propositions formulated in the beginning of the 20th century. It concentrates on the meaning of a theoretical these about the relation between consciousness and the object. In Jaspers? thinking this is an instrument of philosophical operations. But that is only one aspect of the general relation between the subject and the object. In this aspect ? consciousness as a subject has corresponding objects. But consciousness can be an object of itself. The most important these is that consciousness transforms a thing into the object and perception is a product of this operation. But we cannot cognize the whole reality so our cognition is not absolute in character.
