Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper1 is to offer a short analysis of one of the most determined attitudes in the field of the contemporary philosophy of mind concerning the Cartesian inheritance from the perspective of the the mind‐body problem. It focuses on Daniel Dennett’s position against the implicitly persistent vision of ‐ what the author calls ‐ the Cartesian materialism in most of the explanations regarding the way consciousness is generated.
