Summary/Abstract: The Mexican SMEs must confront their small sizes, because it supposes to be an obstacle for their existence abroad, as only 5% of their exports success to make it, since 90% are family nature entrepreneur. Despite the relevance, official statistics that report the characteristics and location of internationalized family SMEs are important. This was the reason to investigate if the factor that drives the export propensity of SMEs associated with a business network such as COPARMEX Tijuana is different from those that are not formally linked to other companies. The article refers to the findings of an applied, non-experimental and cross-sectional investigation; obtained through the exploratory, descriptive and inferential method, by using the hypothesis tests for the show of two samples; whose dependent variable was measured by the export propensity explained with annual average sales in exports, number of countries and average years in exports. This last factor results to be different by comparing the 73.3% of COPARMEX and the other 40% recorded by the other group. However, the study remains pending if the result can be fully attributed to the actions undertaken by COPARMEX.
