Stewardship Climate and Entrepreneurship in Family Business

Summary/Abstract: In this theoretical study we examine how stewardship climate influences family entrepreneurship. To help result theoretical, empirical and substantive debates we present an integrative conceptual framework based on the overarching concepts of stewardship climate, entrepreneurial orientation, and entrepreneurial activities. Specifically, we argue that entrepreneur orientation plays an important role the mediator, whereby proactiveness innovativeness, and risk taking concern significantly strengthen the effects the stewardship climate on entrepreneurial activities. Together, our findings point to an important but previously overlook explanation of one of the key driver of family entrepreneurship.
