Summary/Abstract: During the last years the IT communication possibilities and the connectivity of devices and systems increased tremendously. On one hand, it gives new opportunities to the companies to offer new services to the clients, like tracing of the shipment. On the other hand, it also gives opportunities to the companies not just to automatize some of their processes but even to create them autonomous, to reduce the needed level of employees’ interaction. In the age of difficulties to get qualified employees could be that one solution to survive in the market, or at least improve their own competitiveness. In their study, the authors show the possibilities and examples of how new technologies, especially communication and interaction solutions of systems and machines can be used to improve the processes within the supply chain.
