Innovative Activities of Polish Small Enterprises – Empirical Study

Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this article is to attempt to make a diagnosis conducted typed of innovative activities and identify the different stages of the innovation process implemented in Polish small businesses in the first years of the post-crisis economic reality (2012–2014). The survey examined the innovative activities based on the Oslo Group methodology. The main empirical study was conducted using the CAPI method on a representative sample of business entities. The results of the analyzes indicate that the scope of the activities that imply innovation is reduced to the training of staff and marketing campaigns. Similarly, in case of the implementation of the innovation process, undertaken in the surveyed enterprises activities are often ad hoc based on intuition and experience of the owners, than are carried out in a systematic and organized manner.
