Summary/Abstract: With political and economic upheavals from Brazil to Russia, there is a sense that the BRICS initiativehas lost speed, grounded to a halt.24 This in turn is interpreted as a sign that China is more preoccupiedwith problems at home that need to be urgently resolved,25 meaning imminent collapse of BRICS. Surprising, however, is the frontal attack angled by notorious Marxists/Trotskyists like Immanuel Wallerstein.
