Summary/Abstract: The article examines which part of speech class the Polish lexeme “jako” belongs to and what grammatical function it has in the sentence. Based on the analysis of 250 sentences containing “jako”, a classification of “jako” and a dependency annotation schema of sentences with “jako” are proposed. The lexeme “jako” belongs to the class of pseudo-predicatives containing uninflecting, non-autonomous, cohesive, non-governing, non-coordinating and non-subordinating entities. According to the proposed schema, the pseudo-predicative “jako” may depend on a noun form, an adjective form or a verb form. Its dependent may be, in turn, realised as one of the following phrase types: nominal, numeral, adjectival, prepositional or verbal. The “jako”-expression has the modifier function if it depends on a noun or an adverbial function if it depends on a verb.
