Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the interdependence between the net errors and omissions (NEO) and other components of the balance of payments in the member states of the European Union in the years 2005–2016. The study was conducted using panel regression tools based on time series of annual frequency collected by the International Monetary Fund. The research proves the leading role of the financial account in the generation of the NEO balances in the EU countries, indicating a slightly higher importance of this relationship in the group of European countries at a higher stage of development as compared to countries with lower GDP per capita.
