Summary/Abstract: The author of the article while analizing the work of Russian writer Alexander Slepakov present this way to show and get over the trauma of soviet reality with its abnormality, perversion of the basic values of humanity, system aberrations. The space of soviet province is in the novel indicated by irrational elements. The hero of the novel, the vampire, represents the mythological plan and helps to realize absurd of soviet time. The writer seems to be convinced that the satire and grotesque can helpin process of adaptation of the Russian trauma.
