Summary/Abstract: "The Power of Flowers" is the eighth book of poetry by Ferenc Juhász, which has become a biographical rarity. Published in 1955 in merely five hundred copies, Juhász' epic poem on nature has come as somewhat of a surprise even for the most eminent literary critics because of its innovative style and unique perspective in the context of the Hungarian poetry of the fifties. The literary values of this poem have only been recognized decades later by such critics as Imre Bori and György Bodnár. In his retrospective study, Béla Pomogáts analyses the historical context and the philosophical source of the poetic revolution accomplished by Ferenc Juhász.
