Threat rhetorics in the Polish political discourse – the analysis of press materials from Parliamentary election campaign in 2011

Summary/Abstract: This article aims at describing the use of the threat in political communication, understood and analyzed in rhetorical and discursive terms. The author examines the position of threat in the theory of rhetoric as well as the use and functions of threat in contemporary Polish political discourse. The final part of the article has been devoted to case study of using the threat as a way of speaking about political opponents.
