Summary/Abstract: The article is a comparative media system study. It presents the main characteristics, evolution and models of management and control of public service and state media systems in different countries – China, Japan, Marocco, Republic of South Africa, Chile and Austria. The goal is to fi nd similarities between the public service/ state media and political systems. The classifi cation of public service media systems described in the article is based on conceptual framework defi ned by D.C. Hallin and P. Mancini.
