Summary/Abstract: The uncomfortable on-going discussion about the margins of the new Soviet man's sexual morays was brought to a close at the beginning of the 1930s by the "muscle men" of the OGPU, who referred to Leningrad's homosexuals as the "scoundrels who tarnished the revolution." This article reconstructs one of the specific campaigns that repressed the fictitious "pederastic counterrevolution" in the summer and fall of 1933 and its consequences.
