Summary/Abstract: This article is a case study dealing with the Central-Eastern European Jewish village of Iwaniki near Pinsk. The research is based on literary sources as well as recollections. Key questions revolve around the Jewish inhabitants’ relationship with other villagers as well as the way they were perceived by a Polish reporter.
