The Diary of Room 14

Summary/Abstract: My critical article refers to Mircea Pascariu's volume of poems, "Trax", published by "casa de pariuri literare". A debut surprising us in form and content as well, the book is a poetic expression of a non-euclidean geometry that situates the human being at the centre of a circle. Trax is an alter ego in a game of split-personality and reflective mirrors. Serious themes are being approached from different, new-fangled viewpoints. The author tames them, treating them to the same extent or à rebours, if need be. As techniques, we are offered some innovations: titles falling into "artful paradoxes" with ideas and feelings, punctuation games, unexpected endings. All in all, this is a debut that cannot go unnoticed because it possesses the ingredients of authentic poetry: thrill, story, visionarism, paradox, leaving off old clichés, platitudes and precautions.
