Summary/Abstract: The political thought of Alexander Marghiloman acquires consistency and complexity during his long public career. Educated at school of Junimism, in the spirit of P. P. Carp and Maiorescu, became head of the Conservative Party in 1914, Marghiloman proves to be an inspiring and convincing doctrinarian. His conference, presented at the Romanian Social Institute, in 1923, is a conclusive proof evidence to that effect. He choose to explore the conservative doctrine in a new light, marked by profound changes caused by the First World War, explaining that it focuses on two central parts: the religious tradition and property, both being very necessary for harmonious evolution of a people.
