Summary/Abstract: “Here I stand; I can do no other” – the famous sentence that Martin Luther said at the Diet of Worms in 18 april 1521. Everybody knows this story, Martin Luther is being held accountable the second time for his 95 anti-church theses. Early that year the pope excommunicated him, but he did not show up there, listening to the advice of Frederick the Wise. But he had to attend the secular courts trial. Maybe this is the reason behind the sentence above. The exhibition presented by The Museum of Bačka Topola Municipality bears this sentence as a sub-heading (the main title is R500), trying to present the history of the reformation in Vojvodina. The museum presents 126 keepsakes from 12 cities (Vrbas, Stara Moravica, Feketić, Subotica, Pačir, Bajša, Debeljača, Zrenjanin, Kula, Maradik, Novi Sad, Pančevo). The peculiarity of many keepsakes – from the territories that the Turks depopulated- in the exhibition is that they are from the time of the resettlement, or older. Every cities recurring elements are family Bibles, hymnals, family and marriage ceremony photos, baptism vessels, and all kind of extracts. The specialty of the exhibition is that in most protestant towns there showed up a person who established the local denomination with stubbornness and tenacity. Thanks to them, the community can get a comprehensive picture in the history of Vojvodinas Protestantism, which was mostly Lutheran and Calvinist. The completeness of the exhibition is granted by a Bible-exhibition presented by the Bible museum of Čantavir.
