Little Homeland Citizens

Summary/Abstract: The notions of homeland and citizen are hard to consider separately. Nevertheless, for analytical purposes an attempt may be made to study them apart.The notion of citizen has two manifestations in public life: legal and conscious.The related notion of citizenship is considered in two ways: from an individual perspective and from the viewpoint of the collectivity. Finally, moving onto the notion of homeland, one is reminded of the classic distinction made byS. Ossowski, into private (little) homeland and ideological homeland. To answer the question regarding who the citizen of a small homeland is, this modern citizen has in some respect been portrayed on the basis of selected empirical data from a random sample of inhabitants in the ŒwiŒtokrzystkie region.
