Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the development of the socio-political movement in Leningrad 1990. The author focuses on the activity of the main democratic and conservative organizations in the city – the Leningrad Popular Front and the Leningrad United Workers Front. The features of the political group’s programs and methods of the election campaign are examined.
