Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this article is to provide a sketch for an influence of Grice’s theory of meaning on modern science and its status in context of newest studies. The first part outlines history of philosophical dispute around theory of meaning. Next part creates theoretical background for third part by describing Grice’s theory of meaning and conversational implicatures. While last part discusses problems of his theory in the light of scientifical data.
