‘Why the celebration will be spend with four year’s delay?’ The commemoration of 250-th anniversary of Leningrad and ‘Leningrad affair’

Summary/Abstract: Although 250-th anniversary of Leningrad should be celebrated in 1953, this event was occurred only in 1957. Substantially, the commemoration was concurrently with epoch-making the Plenum of the CPSU Central Committee in the June 1957. In this article author considers reasons of this unusual situation, which was arose from political struggle and actions of the city government for preparation to festivities.
