Party and the Soviet leadership of the Estonian SS and the struggle for labor camps of the NKVD for foreign prisoners of war in 1944–1946

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the participation of the party and state leadership in the creation of camps for foreign prisoners in Estonia – Republic incorporated into the Soviet Union shortly before the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. On the basis of archival materials the author reveals the course of the struggle of party functionaries to attract to the republic of additional manpower for the early recovery of the Estonian economy.
