Summary/Abstract: The text is devoted to car nicknames. The author analyzes the material collected usinga survey method. A linguistic (onomastic) and cultural analysis has been carried out.The most important question concerns the function of car nicknames. Due to the factthat these names usually do not distinguish objects (in the family there is often onlyone car), the main function the author points out is the incorporative one.
