Prefixal-suffixal nouns in Bohemian minor place-names

Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the prefixal-suffixal substantive lexical units found in names of uninhabited places on the territory of Bohemia. A majority of the lexical units analysed are derived from common nouns; formations from proper names (namely toponyms) are rare. In addition to the bases of the individual formations, the repertory of the prefixes and suffixes was investigated. A geolinguistic perspective reveals that the lexical units analysed occur most frequently in minor place-names from southwest and northeast Bohemia.
