Summary/Abstract: The study presents the need to explore media music by providing theoretical and terminological bases for its understanding. There are two types of understanding of the concept: instrumental (narrower and concrete) and cultural (broader and more general). The choices of basic approaches to studying media music are justified: cultural, sociological, anthropological, media studies.
