Summary/Abstract: The Black Sea is a part of the World Ocean. It has a number of hydrographic and geographic peculiarities. Controversial phenomenon of global warming could gradually lead to melting polar ice caps, resulting ultimately in raising the seas level. All riparian countries would have much reduced territory and all sea ports would disappear under water. There appears the risk of local wars for territory and resources, primarily water, food, energy, and agricultural land. Also, it will increase the threats, vulnerabilities and risks of epidemics, crimes, serious social disturbances, similar to the times of great migrations of people in the Early Middle Ages. The social instability could lead to a collapse of actual civilization. Threats, vulnerabilities and risks are multiple in the Black Sea area. The only logical step is international cooperation for geo-climatic disaster prevention and a new multidisciplinary approach to specific answer. In the Black Sea there was, is and will be risk of geo-climatic disasters.
