Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the findings of a research study, which was designed for understanding aspects related to the China’s environmental policies and fundamental structural changes in its energy sector in the perspective of 2020. This paper tests two hypothesis. Firstly, low carbon development based on a resource-efficient and eco-friendly solutions, is in line with the country’s long-term sustainability strategies and development priorities. Secondly, the promotion of low-emission model lead to reduce pollution as well as to stimulate the development of real economy.
