Summary/Abstract: The article aims at exploring the specific model of the Finish public libraries today, set up historically, which is binding the culture of reading and literacy with different social innovations as a base for economic growth and personal wellbeing. The care for the human capital, libraries networking and specialization and the role of the users in service design are seen as key factors for the high use and appreciation of the Finish public libraries.
