Summary/Abstract: This paper offers an analysis of the theoretical model of early socialization, developed by Axel Honneth as part of his recognition paradigm, regarding the place of empirical arguments in its justification. A reconstruction is made of the formulation and subsequent change of the model in order to examine its main framework and goals, the reasons and effects of its restructuring, and the potential offered to the modified model by newly introduced empirical theories.
