Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study. The article deals with the categorical approach to the study of grammatical structure, which has been actively used in recent years in Ukrainian linguistics. Categorical grammar analysis led to a new aspect of formative suffixes and prefixes - as a means of categorizing nepredykatnyh values and basic components of predicative syntactic structures, enabling the division of the grammatical system of three subsystems - syntax, morphology and word formation, which has its own units and categories. This contributed to the distinction between categorical syntax, categorical morphology and categorical word-formation. It is difficult to delineate the wordbuilding categories of the accompanying predicate, formed by the estimated affixes of the nouns. To understand what is the basis of categorization of subjective evaluation word creative in our study and compared separately the concept of “evaluative”, “emotional” and “expressive”; within the evaluation scale. Methods of research: descriptive - for the description of the basic theories of categorical grammar, the processes of its formation, the reasons for the separation of categorical syntax, categorical morphology and categorical word formation; comparison - for the analysis, synthesis and synthesis of the main linguistic theories, as well as processes occurring within the distinction between the concepts of “evaluative”, “emotional” and “expressive”; methods of linguistic observation, classification and systematization - for the division of forms, means and methods in the interpretation of the semantic structure of the word, etc. Scientific novelty. For the first time an attempt was made to systematize the concept of “evaluative”, “emotional” and “expressive”; within the emotional and expressive scale. Conclusions. Consequently, the rating category is an ambiguous category of the modern grammatical system. On the one hand, researchers distinguish individual functional semantic fields of diminution and diminution-expressiveness, as well as the functional-semantic field of magnification-expressivity, on the other - identify the concept of “emotional” and “expressive”. It is also discursive to determine the assessment scale (with grades “+” and “-“). In our opinion, it is necessary to adhere to the position on the allocation of three independent, mainly semantic categories - evaluation (estimation), emotionality (emotionality) and expressiveness, which reflect the neutral use of language. Among them, the vaguest is the category of expressiveness, because it intersects with two others or with the category of emotionality (emotionality), because emotionality and expressiveness as the properties of lexical and other units are closely linked.
