RESEARCH ON THE PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL PEACE-KEEPING OPERATIONS

Summary/Abstract: From practical experience with regards to the participation in this type of missions, following recruitment, selection, training and deployment in the theatre of operations, international personnel is challenged by several stimuli of physical, psychological, social and professional nature – the so-called “cultural shock” – that tests the capacity to adapt to the new working environment and in certain circumstances can influence the execution of the international mission.
